Where to Live as a Musashino University Student (Ariake Campus)

Musashino University's Ariake Campus is about a 7-minute walk from Kokusaitenjijo Station. Here are the 15 cheapest stations within roughly 30 minutes* of it, sorted by studio rent. Balancing rent and commute time is the key to a comfortable first apartment in Tokyo — start your search from this list.

Where do students actually live?

Since 2021, Musashino University has assigned each faculty and department to either the Ariake or Musashino campus from year one, with no mid-course relocation. The Ariake campus hosts the Global Studies, Law, and Economics faculties among others, so students here spend all four years in the bay area.

The real favorites start with Kokusai-Tenjijo Station on the Rinkai Line, about an 8-minute walk away, followed by Ariake and Tokyo Big Sight stations on the Yurikamome, Tokyo Teleport with its good access toward Shibuya and Shinjuku, and Shiomi on the Keiyo Line. It's a redeveloped waterfront district anchored by event venues like Tokyo Big Sight, with a relatively good reputation for safety.

Unusually, the ranking below overlaps well with reality: Tokyo Teleport (1st), Shiomi (13th), and Ariake-Tennis-no-mori (15th) are all genuine student choices. The stations closest to campus — Kokusai-Tenjijo, Ariake, and Tokyo Big Sight — don't appear, though, so check their rent levels too before settling on a pick from the ranking.

Short on time between results day and move-in?

In Japan there are often only a few weeks between acceptance and the start of term. A furnished apartment cuts both the setup work and the upfront costs, so you can start student life right away. See the Housing Guide (furnished / share house / standard rental) →
