Where to Live as a Daito Bunka University Student (Itabashi Campus)

Daito Bunka University's Itabashi Campus is about a 9-minute walk from Nishidai Station. Here are the 15 cheapest stations within roughly 30 minutes* of it, sorted by studio rent. Balancing rent and commute time is the key to a comfortable first apartment in Tokyo — start your search from this list.

Where do students actually live?

At Daito Bunka University, most faculties involve a relocation — students spend their first two years at the Higashi-Matsuyama campus in Saitama before moving to the Itabashi campus in Tokyo for years three and four (only the Faculty of International Relations and Faculty of Sports and Health Science stay at Higashi-Matsuyama all four years). The real favorite near the Itabashi campus is Nishidai Station, a 10-minute walk away, with plenty of housing stock that keeps rent manageable. Tobu-Nerima Station, reachable by free school bus, and Ikebukuro, chosen as a lifestyle base, are also popular.

The ranking below is dominated by stations along the same Toei Mita Line as Nishidai, a closer match than at many other universities, though Nishidai Station itself still doesn't appear on it. Above all, this is a school where you need to plan for the whole four years — Higashi-Matsuyama first, then Itabashi — so don't judge based on the Itabashi-area information alone; confirm which campus you'll actually be assigned to at enrollment.

Short on time between results day and move-in?

In Japan there are often only a few weeks between acceptance and the start of term. A furnished apartment cuts both the setup work and the upfront costs, so you can start student life right away. See the Housing Guide (furnished / share house / standard rental) →
